Overview

Multiverse is pioneering a new approach to workforce development, using expert human coaching and AI to address critical skills gaps in technology and data. The high-growth, venture-backed scale-up balances dual objectives: achieving commercial success while driving social impact through equitable career access.

The business evolved from professional apprenticeships to become an AI-powered upskilling platform, now serving over 1,500 partners. That shift brought operational complexity, demanding distinct messaging and journeys for early-career talent, experienced professionals, and enterprise clients.

Opportunity

The Multiverse website, originally built in the company’s early start-up phase, had become a barrier rather than an enabler of growth. While the underlying technology stack was modern, including Sanity CMS, it wasn’t being used to its full potential.

Routine content updates required engineering support, and it was difficult to iterate on messaging. The Programmes Library, a key conversion area, had potential to better support enterprise clients and individual learners in exploring and evaluating their options. With some structural changes, it could offer greater clarity and make navigation feel more intuitive.

Compounding these platform challenges, previous agency relationships had fallen short, leaving confidence in external partners low. As such, this wasn’t just a technical issue; it was a chance to rebuild trust and reshape how the website supported a fast-moving business. The goal: transform a previously untapped channel into a flexible, business-critical tool that internal teams could rely on.

Solution

We began with the fundamentals: resolving bugs, improving site speed, reducing a growing backlog, and addressing SEO issues limiting visibility of Multiverse's programmes. After just four months of consistent delivery, Multiverse entrusted us with their release management - signalling growing trust and creating space for deeper collaboration.

Discovery workshops followed, revealing a critical disconnect between business objectives and the website experience as we explored content modelling and the differing needs of B2B and B2C users. This insight became a springboard for more strategic planning, with product and design expertise brought in to realign the digital experience with business goals.

The site was rebuilt in stages over the next two years, with the Programmes Library becoming a defining, design-led effort. We also restructured the information architecture, launched a homepage with AI-led positioning, and created bespoke programme pages for different audiences. Instead of replacing Sanity CMS, we enhanced it – making content more modular and easier to manage. As priorities shifted, we adjusted support and delivery to match changing goals and budgets.

Outcome

The rebuilt platform delivered measurable improvements in both performance and operations. Conversions rose by 50%, bounce rates dropped significantly, and organic traffic surged - driven by targeted content and technical SEO enhancements.

Operationally, the marketing team gained agility through a more modular CMS. This made it easier to update content, test approaches and adapt layouts with minimal engineering support. We upgraded Sanity to V3, streamlined support processes, and laid the foundation for an in-house team to take ownership of day-to-day delivery.

Multiverse then chose us as their long-term partner to support their transition to a more self-sufficient model. Today, their digital platform reflects the ambition of a unicorn business – sharp, responsive, and built to scale.
