Overview

Together with the iGaming operator and AWS, we created a centralised environment for AI and automation. The aim was to scale these capabilities across the business while accelerating the development of new data-driven services and improving the customer experience. 

Through close collaboration, we built a system that integrates directly with the operator’s Smart Data Platform (built on Snowflake), providing teams with the tools to build, deploy, and manage AI at scale. This work addressed a clear strategic imperative: embedding AI and intelligent automation across operations to unlock efficiency, open new revenue streams, and strengthen customer safety. 

Opportunity

In order to streamline development, connect expertise and accelerate the delivery of new AI-powered capabilities to every team, the operator needed a unified, enterprise-wide framework. The business had already developed successful, targeted AI models – so the opportunity was to build on this success.

Solution

We collaborated with AWS to build a foundational AI platform that combines machine learning, Generative AI, and MLOps. Acting as the central hub, the solution connects directly with the Smart Data Platform. It supports the full lifecycle, including data ingestion and preparation, model deployment and inference, as well as continuous monitoring and improvement.

From day one, we co-designed the platform as a fully operational environment. Our engineers worked closely alongside the iGaming firm’s teams, sharing knowledge and collaborating in an agile manner with AWS and other partners to ensure our work made an immediate impact.

We built on AWS SageMaker for scalable ML and AWS Bedrock for generative capabilities. A key architectural challenge was integration: the system had to run seamlessly on existing container platforms and AWS Landing Zones now, while supporting staged transitions to future strategic Landing zones – minimising disruption and disruptive migrations.

Outcome

The platform has become a significant asset for the operator, delivering clear and positive results across the business. Commercially, it supports key initiatives, including a recommendation engine that drives player engagement and a tournament optimisation tool that enhances profitability.

The solution also provides enhanced security and risk management. A new fraud-scoring model is generating significant annual savings by reducing bonus abuse, while bot-prevention tools protect customer accounts from automated threats.

The improvements in operational efficiency are particularly notable. An AI-powered chatbot now resolves a high volume of routine customer queries, creating new capacity equivalent to hundreds of additional team members. This automation enables their specialist teams to focus on more complex player needs.

As a central, scalable foundation for AI, the platform now enables the iGaming leader to build on their success and accelerate the deployment of future data-driven innovations.
