We partnered with BR-DGE to form Clocktower, an embedded engineering team dedicated to keeping pace with a rapidly growing roadmap. Working side by side for a year, the collaboration effort delivered crucial payment integrations, accelerated key initiatives, and helped reinforce their strategy for long-term growth.

BR-DGE is a payments orchestration provider that enables merchants to connect with multiple payment providers through a single platform. Operating across sectors, the organisation has built a strong presence in iGaming, working with major brands such as Flutter UK&I, William Hill, Paddy Power, and Sportsbook Australia.
As the platform expanded, its feature pipeline grew richer with new integrations and enhancements that would add even greater value. This rapid success created a new opportunity to increase delivery momentum in line with BR-DGE’s commercial growth.
The leadership team wanted to be strategic about their long-term hiring. With two additional squads planned for the future, the immediate goal was to meet the growing development schedule while scaling hiring deliberately and sustainably. The Clocktower partnership was designed as the perfect bridge, providing immediate delivery capacity to accelerate progress while creating the space to scale their permanent capability at the right pace.
The Clocktower cohort was created to complement the organisation’s existing units. It included six of our engineers and a tech lead, working with a BR-DGE product owner who set priorities and guided refinement. The work focused on technically complex integrations with third-party payment providers such as Cybersource and Braintree. In the latter stages of the engagement, the engineers contributed to an initiative to evolve and modernise the company’s core platform architecture.
Clocktower integrated into BR-DGE’s ceremonies and ways of working, taking initiatives directly from a shared list of priorities rather than operating on a separate track. Each quarter, every squad was assigned initiatives based on its capacity, and Clocktower resourced its share accordingly. The BR-DGE product owner provided initial analysis and documentation, which the team refined into detailed estimates and deliverables, maintaining open collaboration as priorities evolved.
Over the course of a year, Clocktower advanced key business priorities, executed payment connections, and helped hit key milestones without production bugs. Beyond completion, the collaboration deepened. BR-DGE’s CTO highlighted a Jira dashboard created by Clocktower engineers as an example of best practice, and our experts were invited to contribute to high-level KPI sessions. Ultimately, this successful partnership reinforced the business case for expanding the BR-DGE team's permanent in-house capability, providing a strong foundation for the next stage of their growth.
