Empowering Small Business Owners with PwC: A Tailored Digital Solution

PwC Private Business is a trusted advisor to over 16,000 private companies, dedicated to helping them overcome operational hurdles and unlock their growth potential. Known for its human-first, tech-powered approach, PwC builds trust and delivers sustained results. To further support small business owners, PwC identified the need for a mobile app that would offer tailored advice and reminders to keep their businesses on track.

PwC tasked CreateFuture with creating a unique mobile app designed specifically for small business owners. The goal was to develop a user-friendly platform that provided timely reminders for key business obligations, such as PAYE, VAT, Corporation Taxes, and Companies House filing dates, while also offering valuable resources to support business growth.

PwC needed to translate its extensive expertise into a digital format that would resonate with small business owners. The challenge was to create an app that was not only functional and compliant with regulatory standards but also intuitive and engaging for users. Additionally, PwC wanted to ensure that the app could be developed and launched swiftly without diverting resources from their internal development teams.

Discovery

CreateFuture began the project by collaborating closely with PwC Private Business to run a comprehensive product discovery session. This process involved gathering vital insights into the client’s objectives and the needs of their target audience. These insights formed the foundation for developing an innovative concept that was customised to meet the specific needs of small business owners.

Insight

Building on the discovery phase, CreateFuture conducted interviews with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to better understand their pain points and needs. This research guided the development of an app that would remind businesses of their key liabilities and deadlines, ensuring they remained compliant and informed. The dedicated team worked hand-in-hand with PwC’s Product Owner to deliver a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for iOS. Post-launch, the app was regularly updated to maintain regulatory compliance and incorporate advanced security features.

In just four months, CreateFuture researched, designed, and launched a fully native iOS MVP. The rapid delivery of the app provided PwC with a valuable mobile experience for their target audience, giving them a competitive edge in the market.
